PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:  Not every project requires the same level of creativity. When a client arrives with her own hand-drawn (and quite competent) floor plan, the appropriate move is often to stand down and follow the lead. After all, it’s their house and there’s great satisfaction in enjoying the fruits of one’s own creativity. My satisfaction came from suggesting small tweaks to improve the original idea, including shifting the primary bedroom to give the living room two additional windows.
