PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:  Almost every home in this community of half acre lots has the same sequence of spaces from street to rear line: parking court & garage, then entry, living room, loggia, and finally a pool squeezed into whatever small yard remains. This particular site, unlike most, has no water or golf course view and I didn’t want to jam a pool between house and back hedge. Always taking pleasure in breaking from expected layouts, I moved the garage to a rear corner and the living room off to one side, creating a U-shaped home with surprisingly deep backyard.
