PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:  It’s a great privilege to be granted a waterfront site with nearly 360 degree views. But with that privilege comes responsibility. The property is prominently located and I wanted the architecture to sit quietly and respectfully on the land- not an easy feat for a two-story house that potential flooding required elevating five feet above grade in almost tree-less environment. To blend in, I decided to abandon classic Hamptons white trim and windows in favor of unpainted cedar trim and dark windows- an earthy palette that flows naturally out of the rugged site.
